On this full-day adventure we journey to a pristine temperate rainforest deep into the heart of the upper Cumberland Plateau to a pristine temperate rainforest… yes… a rainforest!!
This area is among the most remote and rugged on the plateau and Honey Creek Trail is the MOST CHALLENGING in Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. It features numerous creeks, waterfalls, cliffs, natural “rock houses”, boulder fields, tight squeezes, rope assisted climbs, rocky scrambles, steep drop offs, and amazing views.
NOTE: Pricing is based on double occupancy.
We will follow the Honey Creek trail and journey approximately 6 miles through a rugged temperate rainforest deep into an ancient gorge packed with pristine creeks and forests. Along the way we will traverse several rock scrambles, skinny squeezes, rope assisted climbs, and creek crossings. Some sections of the trail consist of nothing but the creek bed itself.
This is a difficult and challenging adventure through rugged and steep terrain (over 1,000ft elevation change) with views and experiences that make it worth every step.
This trail is poorly marked and many visitors report getting a bit “lost” once or even multiple times… but have no fear… our experienced guides will lead you through this enchanting landscape while also making sure you encounter all the best sights and experiences.

Tennessee weather tends to be unpredictable this tour operates rain or shine (excluding severe weather) so please be prepared accordingly.
Travelers should have at least a moderate physical fitness level.
