Hike Distance: 5 miles
Trip Duration: 8-10 hours

Discription:
Journey deep into the heart of the Cumberland Plateau. Here we will explore some of the tallest waterfalls around.
The Cumberland Plateau is a geologically rich, biodiverse region of middle Tennessee features numerous state parks and natural areas packed with awe inspiring waterfalls, mysterious caves, and breathtaking vistas.
We will spend about 4 to 6 hours exploring Fall Creek Falls State Park; a pristine area laced with cascades, gorges, waterfalls, streams and lush stands of virgin hardwood timber, the park beckons those who enjoy nature at her finest. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is the tallest free falling waterfall in the eastern United States. Other waterfalls within the park include Cane Creek Falls 85ft, Cane Creek Cascades/Falls 45ft, Coon Creek Falls 250ft, and Rock House Falls 120ft.
On this challenging adventure, we will hike up to about 6 miles. We cross a large suspended swinging bridge, traverse up 60 steep concrete steps and journey more than 300ft down into the massive gorge to the base of Fall Creek Falls itself.
The Base of Falls Trail is Very Strenuous!
It descends over 300ft vertically within a half-mile across uneven, slippery rocks. This is an out and back trail. Therefore, we must climb 1/2 mile up those same steep, slippery rocky steps.
During bad weather, this tour may switch to our Cumberland Caverns & Fall Creek Falls - Combo Tour.
